Returns & Replacements
At The Carats, every piece is lovingly handcrafted by skilled Indian artisans. The beauty of handmade jewellery is its uniqueness — no two pieces are identical. Natural gemstones may show subtle variations in colour, inclusions, and texture; these are a hallmark of authenticity and part of each piece’s charm.
We accept returns and replacements only in the rare event that an item is damaged in transit or an incorrect product is delivered. In such cases, the item must be returned unworn, in its original condition, and with all original packaging.
How to request a return (Domestic orders only)
Please follow these steps and we’ll help you promptly:
- Notify us within 7 days of receiving your order by emailing info@thecarats.in.
- Share clear photographs of the damaged or incorrect product so we can assess the issue. (Approval of returns is at the sole discretion of The Carats.)
- Once your request is approved, we will arrange courier pickup of the item.
- After we receive and inspect the returned product, we will dispatch a replacement of the correct item.
- If an identical replacement is not available, we will issue a Gift Card of equal value for future purchases.
Unserviceable pincodes
Deliveries are currently made to major towns and cities across India through our trusted courier partners. If an order cannot be shipped because your delivery pincode is unserviceable, we will inform you and refund the order amount.
Please note: The Carats is not liable for refunds on orders that are shipped but later returned due to incomplete, inaccurate, or unserviceable addresses. To help ensure smooth delivery, please provide a town or city address.
International orders
Returns or replacements are not accepted for orders shipped internationally. If you are placing an international order, we recommend requesting up to two real-time images or a short video of the product before completing your purchase. The Carats is not obliged to send these images proactively; please request them by emailing info@thecarats.in.
Disclaimer on handcrafted jewellery
As each piece is handcrafted and set with natural gemstones, slight variations in colour, inclusions, or finishing are natural and enhance the individuality of every item. These natural variations are not considered defects. Returns are accepted only in the rare case of items damaged in transit or delivered incorrectly (domestic orders only).
